Disney has added Jordan North and Sian Welby to the voice cast of Toy Story 5, bringing two familiar UK voices into the fifth instalment of the Pixar franchise. North will voice a character called Garden Gnome, while Welby will play an Inflatable Flamingo.
The casting was announced with one month to go before Toy Story 5 reaches cinemas on June 19, 2026, a date that puts the film right back in front of families heading into the summer movie season. Disney also expects the film to arrive on Disney+ later in 2026, extending its life beyond the theatrical run.
The new film sends Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the gang into a fresh conflict described by Disney as Toy meets Tech. That sets up Lilypad, a brand-new tablet device voiced by Greta Lee, as part of the challenge facing the toys this time around.
Welby said the characters and world of Toy Story had formed such an iconic part of so many people’s childhoods, including her own, and that being part of the journey had been a dream come true. North called it a pinch-me moment, saying he grew up loving the films and that joining the gang felt surreal and special.
The UK-specific casting fits a pattern Disney has used before, bringing local celebrities into versions of its animated films for different markets. In Britain, that has included voices such as Jeremy Clarkson, Lewis Hamilton and Anne-Marie in earlier Pixar releases. This latest move gives Toy Story 5 a familiar local edge while keeping the core film anchored in the long-running American franchise.
Andrew Stanton directs the film and co-writes it with Kenna Harris, who also co-directs. Lindsey Collins produces, and Randy Newman returns to score his fifth Toy Story feature. With the release now set and the cast filling out, Disney is clearly leaning on a blend of nostalgia and novelty: the old gang is back, but the world around them is changing fast.
