Rob Beckett has dropped fresh hints about the second series of Celebrity Traitors, saying the cast filmed in an iconic Scottish castle and that the wardrobe choices were as memorable as the game. Speaking on Parenting Hell with Josh Widdicombe, he joked that one outfit was so reckless he wore “crotchless trousers on the round table” and added, “Yeah, yeah, banish this.”
The comedian said he planned his looks carefully at the start of filming, explaining that he wore “4 or 5 decent ones” early on and saved the questionable outfits for later. “I went for like 4 or 5 decent ones to start with, save a few for the end, there’s some iffy outfits in the middle, I reckon episodes 6-8 is everyone’s worse clothes so keep an eye out for that,” he said. He also added, “I’m not saying I’m in episode… I’m not giving anything away, whoever is in there at that point whether it’s me or someone else, that is their worst clothes.”
That detail matters because the second series had already finished filming by the time Beckett spoke, turning his comments into one of the few new windows into how the show played out behind the castle walls. The cast names he mentioned — including Joanne McNally, Maya Jama, Romesh Ranganathan, Bella Ramsey, Jerry Hall and Miranda Hart — point to a line-up built for attention before a single episode has aired.
Beckett said the journey home came with its own joke, telling listeners, “On the way back from Traitors my bag was overweight for the flight - There was a lot of emotional baggage!” He also singled out Hall, saying, “Jerry Hall she's amazing - I’d love to get Jerry Hall on here [the podcast],” and described the people he met on the show as “lovely,” saying he really enjoyed meeting them.
But he did not dress up the reality of television either. “That’s showbiz everyone’s f****** lying and smiling,” he said, before adding, “I worked with Maya Jama recently, and you're just like 'we can't be the same species'.” He finished with a line that summed up the mix of glamour and absurdity that the cast appears to bring to the castle: “Me, Romesh, Jerry Hall, Maya Jama, Miranda Hart all in a line - Welcome to the human race!”
The comments offer an early, vivid portrait of a season that has yet to reach viewers: big names, a Scottish castle, and enough wardrobe chaos to become part of the story before the game even begins. Beckett has not said where he fits into the series, but he has made one thing plain enough already — if episodes 6-8 really are the low point for outfits, the fashion may end up being as watchable as the betrayals.
