Rockstar Games will not send out review copies of GTA 6 to journalists, media or content creators before launch, according to a Brazilian journalist. Instead, the early hands-on review process would happen on-site at a fixed physical location chosen by Rockstar, with the company keeping tight control over security.
The location would reportedly be under continuous surveillance, with no photography or videography allowed. That would mark a sharp break from the usual rollout for a game this big, when press and creators often receive advance access so they can prepare coverage before release day. In this case, the plan would keep the game under wraps until much closer to launch.
The claim matches an earlier prediction from YouTuber Nukov during the Insider Gaming weekly podcast, where he said there would be no previews or review copies of GTA 6. Tom Henderson, also of Insider Gaming, separately debunked the May 18 pre-order date and said people should not expect anything tangible until July or August. GTA 6 is officially slated to launch on November 19th, 2026.
The rumor lands in a year when the gaming industry has already seen three major leaks, including Forza Horizon 6 online 10 days before release, as well as leaks involving Subnautica 2 and PRAGMATA. Rockstar knows that problem better than most. A couple of years ago, the studio was hit by leaks that included early development footage of GTA 6 and its first trailer, leaving the company with a clear reason to be cautious if it is planning a more locked-down reveal cycle.
That caution, though, is still only a rumor for now, and it should be treated that way. But if Rockstar does move ahead with an on-site-only review setup, it would signal that the company sees the leak risk as serious enough to override the normal marketing playbook. For fans watching the next stretch of GTA 6 coverage, the more immediate question is not whether the game is coming — it is how little of it Rockstar is willing to show before November 19, 2026.
