Brock Williams committed to Texas on Friday, announcing his decision on The Pat McAfee Show and giving the Longhorns another major piece in their 2026 recruiting push. The four-star tight end, ranked as the No. 2 player at his position and among the top 80 prospects in the country, picked Texas over Ohio State and Georgia.
Williams, listed at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, became the 11th recruit to join Texas' class. His commitment adds to a group that already includes another tight end pledge, JT Geraci, who is ranked No. 28 at the position. When Williams gets to campus, Texas will have a pair of young tight ends arriving with the same class.
The commitment matters because Texas is building one of the more closely watched recruiting classes under coach Steve Sarkisian, and Williams was among the most sought-after prospects in the country. The Longhorns also have Easton Royal, the No. 1 receiver in the country, in the class, giving the program another high-end offensive addition as it continues to stack talent around its future offense.
For Texas, the timing is the point. Williams chose the Longhorns on a Friday stage, with two national powers still in the mix, and gave the program a public win it can point to as the class keeps growing. The next question is how much more the class can add before signing day, but for now the message is clear: Texas landed one of the country's top tight ends and did it in the open, with the whole recruiting world watching.
