said never let their early slump spill into the dressing room, insisting the team’s environment stayed steady even after three straight defeats. Speaking on May 15, 2026, before CSK’s match in Lucknow, the all-rounder said the support staff kept backing the players and that the coaching and administrative setup made the recovery easier.

“We’ve always maintained a very stable team environment, regardless of the results. Our support staff is exceptional; they never stop backing us,” Veer said. “Even when we lost those first three games, there was never any negativity in the dressing room. We had total belief that we could turn things around at any moment. That kind of administrative and coaching support made the comeback much easier for the players.”

Veer was speaking after CSK’s win over at the in Chennai on Sunday, where he was used as the Impact Player. The result kept CSK moving back toward the top four phase in the points table, and it came at a time when the side had already begun to steady itself after the poor start.

The timing matters because CSK now head into a ground Veer knows well. He plays domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow, and said the surface could offer bowlers some help. Veer, who also bowls left-arm spin, said the conditions suggested there might be seam movement and noted that he has played a lot of cricket at the venue. To tailor their preparation, CSK arrived two days early to acclimatise.

“The conditions in Lucknow suggest we might see some seam movement today. I’ve played a lot of cricket here, and this ground traditionally offers something for the bowlers,” Veer said. “Knowing that, we arrived two days early to acclimatise and ensure our preparation was tailored to these specific conditions. We feel very well-prepared for the challenge ahead.”

Veer also pushed back on any temptation to dwell on his own numbers. He has made 66 runs with the bat, but said the innings is already behind him and that his attention is on the next result, not individual milestones.

“To be honest, that innings is in the past now. In T20 cricket, you have to stay in the present,” he said. “My only focus is ensuring the team wins today. If I can contribute with a strong performance to make that happen, that’s great, but the team's result is the only thing that truly matters to me.”

For CSK, the message from Veer was less about one player’s form than about a team that has kept its nerve long enough to recover from a damaging start. The next test in Lucknow will show whether that calm travels as well as their results have.
