Crunchyroll is cutting the price of its Fan and Mega Fan subscriptions for a limited time, offering new and returning members three months of discounted access through Thursday, May 21. The streaming service said the promotion spans more than 35 countries, including the United States, and comes as anime fans are being pushed toward a slate of new releases and recent award winners.
Under the deal, the Fan plan drops to $1.99 per month from its regular $9.99, while the Mega Fan plan falls to $2.99 per month from $13.99. Fan includes ad-free anime viewing, offline viewing and 5% off select products in Crunchyroll’s store. Mega Fan adds streaming on four devices at a time, 10-15% off select merchandise, free shipping on select orders, access to the Game Vault and early access to deals.
The offer does not include Crunchyroll’s Ultimate Fan membership, which carries a seven-day free trial and costs $17.99 per month. That makes the current discount a narrower play than a full-site overhaul, but one aimed squarely at bringing in lapsed viewers and first-time subscribers during Ani-May, the company’s annual promotional push tied to anime fandom.
The timing also lines up with a crowded release window. Crunchyroll is highlighting new titles including Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Witch Hat Atelier and Daemons of the Shadow Realm, while also leaning on Anime Awards standouts such as Solo Leveling, Apothecary Diaries, My Hero Academia and SPY X FAMILY. In a streaming market where price can decide what gets watched this month and what gets skipped, the short runway gives the promotion its edge: if viewers want the lower rate, they have until May 21 to take it.
