For Secret Cinema, the launch follows a run of sold-out screenings and events that included Blade Runner, Casino Royale, Dirty Dancing and 28 Days Later. It also comes just after the company revealed plans for the Greenwich Peninsula venue, a move that signals a shift from one-off pop-up spectacles to a more fixed theatrical home.

That matters because this is the first time the -starring franchise has been adapted into an immersive theatrical experience, and the company is putting the new venue at the center of that gamble. Secret Cinema said the show will blur the lines between film, theatre and live spectacle, with promising “high jinks on the high seas,” aerial stunts, swordfights and a cast of swashbuckling pirates in Tortuga and aboard the Black Pearl.

The company’s own framing leaves little doubt about the scale of the bet. “For 10 weeks only, guests will be plunged into the legendary world of , with the freedom to roam richly detailed environments, encounter iconic characters, and become part of the story themselves,” Secret Cinema said. It added that every night would end in a “spectacular celebration worthy of the seven seas.”

The real test now is not whether Secret Cinema can draw attention — it already has — but whether it can turn one of Disney’s most recognizable franchises into a live event big enough to justify a new home at Greenwich Peninsula. If the company can fill the room in February 2027, it will have proved that immersive film experiences can move from niche attraction to flagship theatre.
