Brooks Nader arrived at the 2026 FOX Upfronts in New York City to promote the new Baywatch reboot, but first she had to get back into her dress. The 29-year-old said the back of the outfit busted open four minutes before showtime, then shared the scramble on Instagram before later stepping onto the red carpet in a red minidress with a halter neckline.
On her Instagram stories, Nader posted a photo that showed white lace underwear visible through the tear in the dress. Over the image, she wrote, “When you bust out of your dress 4 minutes before showtime!!! Classssssicc,” then posted another photo of herself being sewn back in, adding, “We’ve got 4 earth angels sewing me back into this sucker.”
The episode landed as Nader was there to push a show that has already drawn attention well beyond the upfront stage. She plays Selene, one of the captains of the Zuma Beach Lifeguards in the new Baywatch iteration, and critics on social media questioned the reboot’s casting choices after her addition was announced. That scrutiny has followed her into the publicity run, even as she leans into the role and the attention around it.
Asked about landing the part on the red carpet, Nader called it “a pinch me moment.” In March, she told the Daily Mail that the debate over casting misses how entertainment now works. “I think that the times are different, and everyone is so multi-hyphenate now. And you can be both an actor and an influencer and have influence,” she said, adding, “And that’s the beauty of the culture that social media has created.”
Nader has also argued that social media itself changes the value of who gets to show up on screen. “We all have platforms now,” she said, and “people could use their voice now.” She said influencers Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne will also appear on the show in different capacities and insisted they will “bring a vibe to the show” and “only help” it in the end. That is the bet behind this reboot: that online reach, if handled well, can widen the audience rather than dilute the show. For now, Nader’s most immediate headline is simpler — she had a wardrobe crisis, got stitched back in minutes before cameras started rolling, and still made it to the carpet looking ready for the part.
