Mohammed Kudus has been ruled out for the rest of Tottenham Hotspur’s 2025/26 Premier League season after a January hamstring injury that first looked set to sideline him for only a couple of months. The setback leaves Spurs without the player many have described as their best this season.
Kudus had already been out for several months before the latest update, and Tottenham now face the final stretch of the campaign without the attacker who had been carrying much of their threat before he went down. Before the injury, he was averaging 2.7 dribbles completed per game and 1.2 key passes per game, while also posting five assists.
The timing matters because Tottenham have been trying to stay afloat without him. Under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs have improved enough to get within one point of safety in the Premier League, but the attack has still not fully clicked. Injuries have taken a toll, and poor striker performances have kept the side from turning that improvement into something more secure.
That wider picture helps explain why Kudus remains such a point of hope for supporters. One Spurs fan wrote about being excited to see him play under De Zerbi, prompting Kudus to answer on X with a brief message: “Watch ME,” followed by an hour glass emoji and a raised hands emoji. The response cut straight through the speculation around his recovery and served as a reminder of the confidence he still carries, even after a major setback.
De Zerbi has already been credited with getting more from Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha, but Tottenham’s attack has not yet fully recovered. Kudus’ absence has been part of that gap, and his injury now leaves Spurs trying to finish the season without the player who had given them their sharpest edge. The question for Tottenham is no longer whether he will be back soon. It is how much ground they can still cover without him.
