Málaga CF and Racing de Santander meet on Saturday, 7 November 2026, at 14:00 local time at Estadio La Rosaleda in a LaLiga EA Sports matchday 12 fixture that matters for both ends of the table. Málaga are still waiting for their first league victory, while Racing arrive looking for their first away points.
The timing explains the interest. After ten league rounds, Juanfran Funes's team were bottom in 20th place with five points, a return built on five draws and five defeats, seven goals scored and 19 conceded. Racing sit six points clear of that mark, but their away form has left them empty-handed on the road.
For Málaga, the numbers are blunt. They lost their latest league appearance 2-1 to Betis, and their last five matches across all competitions brought one win, two draws and two defeats. The one bright note in that run was a 3-0 Copa del Rey victory, a reminder that the side can still find a result even while the league campaign stalls.
Racing's recent form is steadier, if still imperfect. They have two wins, one draw and two defeats over the same stretch, but their latest result was a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid. Before that came a 2-0 cup victory and a win over Espanyol, enough to show a team with points in it, even if those points have all come at home.
That is what gives this match its edge. Málaga and Racing returned to the top tier this season, both clubs are trying to move away from the lower part of the table, and La Rosaleda, with more than 30,000 seats, will host a contest that is more than a routine calendar entry. It is a chance for Málaga to stop the wait and for Racing to finally carry their form away from home.
When the teams step out in Andalusia, the cleanest read is simple: one side needs a first league win, the other needs a first away reward, and neither can afford to treat matchday 12 as another ordinary Saturday.
