The St. Louis Blues visit the New York Rangers on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, opening the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. It is the matchup readers are looking for now because the Rangers swept the 2025-26 season series and get the first chance to see whether that edge still holds.

The Blues come in with momentum of their own after a 5-4 comeback win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, when they scored three unanswered goals in 4:38 to turn the game around. Aleksanteri Kaskimaki, who scored his first career NHL goal and the game-winner with 6:45 remaining, said it was a pretty good feeling, while Jim Montgomery said the Blues found a way to find their game after not having it early.

That result matters because the Rangers are still the team that controlled this matchup last season, winning it twice by 3-2 and 2-1 scores. New York also enters with roster questions hanging over the game after Igor Shesterkin suffered a season-ending knee injury on Oct. 9 and Joonas Korpisalo was reported out at least four more weeks the next day, leaving the club to sort out its goaltending picture on the fly.

The Blues can point to their recent rally as proof they are not arriving empty-handed, but the Rangers still have the more decisive recent history in this series. With Shesterkin unavailable and Korpisalo not yet ready to return, the biggest unresolved piece for Tuesday is not the matchup itself, but which Rangers goaltender will be asked to face a St. Louis team that has already shown it can erase a deficit fast.

Puck drop is set for Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. CT, and that answer will come soon enough.
