The Portland Trail Blazers head to Salt Lake City on Saturday, October 31, for a 12:00 PM Pacific matchup with the Utah Jazz. Portland is 3-1, Utah is 1-4, and both teams arrive with injury questions that could shape the day from the opening tip.
That is why Trail Blazers Vs Jazz is drawing attention now. Portland will be without Ja Morant and Shaedon Sharpe, while Robert Williams III and Chris Youngblood are questionable. Utah has Jaren Jackson, Jr. and Jusuf Nurkic out, with Lauri Markkanen listed as questionable, leaving both benches under pressure before the game even starts.
The timing matters because this is Portland's first game without Ja Morant in the starting lineup. Without him, the Trail Blazers have to adjust quickly against a Jazz team that has already dropped three straight, losing to the Lakers, Grizzlies, and Spurs. Utah has struggled to produce efficient offense, sitting 20th in the league in field goal percentage, 17th in the league in three-point percentage, and 20th in the league in points scored.
Still, the Jazz are not a simple out. They rebound well on both ends, even if they do not force turnovers and have been poor at defending the three-point arc. That gives Keyonte George a chance to keep Utah in the game if he keeps scoring the way he has so far, with 24.4 points in 33.0 minutes per game while shooting nearly 50% from the field and 42% from the three-point arc.
Portland should have the deeper overall case on paper, but the missing pieces on both sides make this more than a routine early-season stop. The next thing readers need is not a bigger preview; it is the opening tip at noon Pacific, when the first answer comes on the floor.
The game can be watched via antenna or cable on KUNP in Portland or on the Rip City Television Network, and it can be streamed on BlazerVision in Oregon and Washington and on League Pass everywhere else.
