The Cleveland Browns worked out Bradyn Swinson on Friday, October 16, giving the former New England draft pick another shot to impress an NFL team. Andrew Siciliano of Cleveland Browns Radio Network reported the workout, and the Browns brought in seven players that day.
For readers following Super Bowl Winners and the churn at the bottom of an NFL roster, Swinson is the name that jumps out because of where he came from and how he got here. New England chose him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft with the No. 146 overall pick, then kept him through a waiver move, a practice-squad return and a promotion to the active roster before he played in three regular-season games and made one tackle.
That path was built on production that made him more than a late-round flier. Swinson started at Oregon before moving to LSU for his final two seasons, and LSU's official biography described him as nearly unblockable as a senior. He led LSU with 13.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and 12 quarterback hurries, posted 60 total pressures and earned second-team All-SEC honors from the conference's coaches while collecting three SEC weekly awards.
The friction is in what happened after all that promise. Swinson was viewed as a strong late-round value and earned a promotion in New England, but Mike Vrabel said he had worked hard, improved and gotten stronger in the weight room while learning special teams, and that still did not keep him from being cut in 2026 after his second offseason with the team. The Browns have not said whether the workout will lead to a signing, which is the part that matters now: a pass-rush prospect with college numbers, NFL exposure and another chance sitting in front of him.
