Kelly Reilly said at the Paramount UK Upfronts that Dutton Ranch will begin filming its second season in early 2027, giving the Paramount+ hit its clearest production timetable yet. The update means viewers who have been waiting for a Paramount+ Dutton Ranch Season 2 Renewal now know the next chapter is still more than a year away from cameras rolling.
The timing matters because the series arrived with real momentum. Dutton Ranch drew 12.9 million viewers worldwide in its first week, and the expected renewal came while two episodes of the first season were still left to stream. Reilly, who leads the Yellowstone spin-off as Beth Dutton, told the audience she was surprised and grateful for the response across the world.
That response has been strong enough to make the slow pace of the next season stand out. Dutton Ranch follows Beth Dutton as she starts afresh in South Texas, and Reilly said the move was “a risk I’m proud we took, taking Beth from the mothership to start a new life in South Texas with lots of snakes.” She also said the show’s reach shows how far the character has traveled beyond Yellowstone, which wrapped in 2024 after five seasons.
For Paramount+, the message is simple: the audience showed up fast, but the follow-up is still on a long runway. Filming beginning in early 2027 does not point to an imminent return, and it leaves the release date for Season 2 unresolved for now. With Reilly, Annette Bening, Ed Harris and Cole Hauser in the cast, the series has the profile to keep drawing attention; the next question is how long viewers will have to wait after production finally starts.
