GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are set to leave the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on November 17, cutting off access for subscribers who rely on PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium to play them. The Talos Principle 2 is also leaving, and after that date the games will no longer be playable unless customers buy them.
The timing is what is driving the search around PlayStation Plus October 2026 games: the removals land two days before the launch of GTA 6. That makes the November 17 cutoff more than a routine catalog change for players who are still working through Rockstar’s older releases.
Cade Onder reported that if players do not manage to finish the games by November 17, they will become unplayable even on a downloaded machine unless they purchase them. That detail matters because the titles are not disappearing from the service quietly; they are being pulled from a catalog built for ongoing access, which means the clock is now running on games many subscribers may have assumed they could return to later.
In that sense, the removal is cleaner on paper than it is for players. Sony can add titles to the service and take them away at the same time, and it recently added Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West, but the practical effect is that a subscription no longer guarantees continued access to every game in the catalog. Once November 17 arrives, the decision shifts from Sony’s schedule to the buyer’s wallet.
The unanswered question is not when the removals happen; that part is fixed. It is why GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are being moved out just as attention turns to GTA 6, a gap that only becomes sharper as the launch nears and the old games are pushed toward the exit.
