Tyler Cameron’s next Dancing with the Stars routine has turned into more than a Dedication Night performance. The October 20 appearance is now driving questions about whether Cameron and his fiancée, Tate Madden, have bigger news to share.
Cameron is dedicating the routine to mothers everywhere, and Madden will join him and Sharna Burgess on the floor. ABC’s Dedication Night press release says the pair will perform a contemporary routine to Ed Sheeran’s Supermarket Flowers, which only added to the chatter around what Cameron might be marking on live television.
The speculation did not start with the show itself. Fans have been tracking Madden’s recent social media posts and pointing to the baggy sweaters, T-shirts and sweatshirts she has worn lately. Cameron also fed the discussion when he first wrote, “Can’t wait to hit the floor with these 3,” in a TikTok caption about the performance before later saying the number was a typo and changing it. That was enough for some viewers to read the post as a clue rather than a mistake.
The guessing has been building for about a month. On September 21, one commenter wrote on one of Madden’s Instagram posts, “I know you're pregnant Tate! I just can't prove it yet.” By October 16, the comment section on a Dancing with the Stars Instagram post was flooded again with pregnancy speculation, and at one point Cameron had his hand on Madden’s stomach before she quickly moved it higher.
Even so, the chatter remains just that: chatter. No one involved has confirmed that Cameron and Madden are expecting, and the only official details point to a tribute performance tied to Cameron’s mother. He has said he wanted to honor Andrea Cameron on Dedication Night, calling the show something she would have loved. Andrea Cameron died unexpectedly in March 2020 of a brain aneurysm, and Cameron has said that making Dedication Night would be one of the greatest gifts he can give his mother and a way to honor her.
That leaves the answer hanging until Tuesday night. Fans will know whether the online reading was right after Cameron and Burgess perform on October 20, with Madden joining them on the dance floor. If there is an announcement, it will happen in front of a live audience already primed to look for one. If there is not, the moment will still belong to the tribute Cameron said he wanted to make for his mother.
