C.J. Stroud is back on the Week 7 waiver wire after his third straight 20-point fantasy outing, a 312-yard, three-touchdown performance in a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. In leagues where quarterbacks are suddenly scarce, his run of production is hard to ignore.
The timing matters because Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, Trevor Lawrence and Justin Herbert are all on bye in Week 7, and that has pushed fantasy managers toward available replacements who can start right away. Stroud, who is averaging 18.7 fantasy points and ranks sixth among quarterbacks, fits that search.
The usual way to measure whether a waiver player is truly available is simple: if he is rostered in fewer than half of standard leagues, he belongs in this group. That is why the list is built around players available in at least 50% of those leagues, with suggested FAB bids meant to help managers decide how aggressively to move. Stroud’s case is the cleanest. He is not a streamer who got lucky once; he has stacked three straight fantasy performances at 20 points or better, and Houston gets the New York Giants in Week 7.
Kendre Miller is the other immediate running back target. He has scored nine fantasy points in back-to-back games, handled 20 rushing attempts, and gained 70 rushing yards in the Saints' latest game. Alvin Kamara still matters, especially after his long touchdown reception, but Miller’s recent workload gives him a path to weekly use while managers patch together a lineup for Week 7.
Then there is the part of waiver season that always feels a little strange: a star can be droppable if the short-term setup is bad enough. Justin Herbert belongs in that discussion because the bye and the current quarterback pool make his roster spot less useful this week than a streaming replacement who can actually take the field. In the same tier of quarterback decisions, Aaron Rodgers’ 16.02 fantasy points in an overtime win over the Buccaneers ended his streak of three straight 20-point fantasy efforts, while Michael Penix Jr. flashed with a season-best 23.1 fantasy points against the Chicago Bears, going 57.6% on his throws for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
There is also a deeper name to watch in the receiver pool. Germie Bernard caught 11 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in Pittsburgh's overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and his roster rate jumped from 3% in one week. That kind of rise usually does not last forever, especially once other targets return, but it is exactly the sort of short-term spike that can swing a Week 7 matchup. Henry is in a similar orbit, with another touchdown catch and double-digit fantasy points in three consecutive games.
Kyler Murray remains part of the conversation too, even after coming out of his bye week at 48.6% rostered. He rushed for 51 yards in Week 5, which is enough to keep him on the edge of the roster cutoff and in the mix for managers deciding whether to hold or move on. The larger point is that Week 7 is about solving one week first and asking questions later. By the time the Texans and the Steelers step into their next games, the managers who acted on the waiver wire will already have their answer.
