Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was rushed out of prison and sent to a New Jersey hospital after hitting his head on a bunk bed, a medical emergency that interrupted his time at Fort Dix and sent fresh attention back to his incarceration. A source said he smacked his head on the bunk above him, but was conscious and speaking after the incident.

The timing matters because the transfer happened while Combs is serving a 50-month sentence and while his prison term has already been under scrutiny. TMZ reported that he was taken from federal prison on Sunday to a nearby medical facility, and a source said the transfer by ambulance came at around 1 a.m. on Saturday. Another source said the injury was non-life-threatening, and a rep for the Grammy winner said, “We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances.”

That response only adds to the unusual picture around his custody. In September, NBC News reported that four anonymous prisoners alleged Combs had people cleaning and cooking for him and had access to premium liquor, antidepressants and a cellphone. TMZ later reported that he was sent back to solitary confinement, and on Tuesday it said he had also been written up several times for alleged fights and cellphone violations, costing him 400 days of commissary privileges and 41 days of good-time credit.

Combs’ camp has framed the hospital trip as a health issue, not a broader crisis, saying his “health and well-being are our immediate concern” and thanking people who reached out. But the prison record now carries a sharper consequence: Page Six confirmed that his release date was pushed back from Jan. 21, 2028 to March 2, 2028, and the unanswered question is not whether he was treated, but how long he was kept at the medical facility before being returned to custody. For now, the latest development makes one thing clear: the reported injury did not end with a brief scare, but with another change to the schedule of a prisoner whose time behind bars has become as closely watched as his case.
