Netflix has already renewed The Hunting Wives for Season 3, giving the series a new run before Season 2 even arrives on November 26. The move locks in the show’s near-term future a month and a half before the next season reaches viewers.
That is a quick show of confidence for a title that first landed as a finished Season 1 and then built momentum after Netflix expanded it into a Netflix original starting with Season 2. The series stars Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman, and it has since pulled in over 35 million views since its July 2025 release.
The numbers help explain why the renewal came so early. Season 1 spent five total weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 English-language TV list, climbed as high as No. 2 in its second week, made the Top 10 TV list in 40 countries and reached No. 1 in 10 countries, including the US. For Netflix, that kind of performance is hard to ignore, especially for a raunchy mystery drama built from the bestselling novel by May Cobb and created for the screen by Rebecca Cutter.
There is still a twist in the show’s path that makes the renewal stand out. Season 1 was first handled as a US-only acquisition, even though the series was originally developed and produced for Starz before reverting to the studio after that network’s split from Lionsgate. The show then widened its reach, and the new deal now pushes it further as a franchise with a future already mapped out.
Cutter is not hiding what comes next. She said she is excited to return to Maple Brook and promised that once viewers finish Season 2, they will want to know what happens next. She also said Season 3 will be even more scandalous and twisted, a blunt signal that the eight-episode new installment is already being built with another turn of the knife in mind.
Casting for that Season 3 run is already underway, but Netflix has not set a release date. That leaves the show in a rare position: Season 2 has not premiered yet, Season 3 is already moving, and the real question now is whether the next chapter can match the appetite that pushed The Hunting Wives this far this fast.
