Rolando Maran cut three names from the squad for Albania Vs San Marino, leaving Sabah Kerjota, Klevi Qefalija and Fetah Fetaji out of the group for the return match. The move came as he reshaped the National Team A list for the fourth Nations League game.

That is why the squad has become a search point now: the selection was not routine, it was forced by availability. Etrit Berisha was out because of a red-card suspension, while Alen Sherri was unavailable after the injury he suffered in the last match against Finland. With one goalkeeper absent through suspension and another ruled out through injury, Maran's staff brought in two more keepers, Alian Taho from the U-21 side and Simon Simoni.

The rest of the picture was more stable. Luis Hasa was back at the team's disposal after staying in Tirana to recover and not traveling to Finland, and Ardian Ismajli, who had been training separately because of the physical load, was ready for the match. Those returns mattered because the squad needed options after the goalkeeper shortage had already narrowed the margin for error.

The one question the team sheet does not answer is why those three outfield players were the ones sacrificed. The facts show the decision, and they show the pressure behind it, but not the internal logic of the cut. What is clear is that Maran chose to protect the immediate balance of the squad for the San Marino meeting, and the next step was already fixed by the calendar: the team had to go into the match with the reshaped group he selected.
