Devon Sawa says the old internet beef with Macaulay Culkin has largely faded, but one piece of it is still alive: Culkin still owns devonsawa.com. In a recent interview, Sawa said the site remains in Culkin's hands and is still being used for jokes and merchandise references tied to him.
That is why the name is back in circulation now. Sawa brought up the feud while talking about how the joke started, saying, "He and I had a internet beef" and adding, "He bought devonsawa.com." He said the purchase happened around his birthday, and he made clear the domain is still active under Culkin's control.
Sawa's comments show how a small celebrity prank from years ago never fully disappeared. He said, "If you want to go to devonsawa.com, you will be purchasing everything from Macaulay Culkin," a line that makes the setup plain enough: the domain itself has become part of the joke. Asked whether he would try to grab @macaulayculkin for himself, he drew the line there, saying he would not go "that low".
The friction is that the feud is described as faded out, yet the website has not been retired with it. Sawa said Culkin still directs fans to merchandise and jokes through the domain, which means the prank is not just remembered, it is still being maintained. That keeps the dynamic alive in a way a finished beef would not, even if the tone around it has softened.
The larger backdrop stretches back to 2000, when Sawa landed a role in Eminem's video for "Stan" after the producers initially pursued Culkin instead. Sawa said, "He was the first pick, I think," and called the project "one of my favorite things, for sure." He also said Dre was a big Final Destination fan and recalled getting the call, "You want to be in this new Eminem video?" For Sawa, that period was "a very wild, wild time of my life," and the old website joke now looks like one more artifact from it. What remains unresolved is whether Culkin ever lets the domain go, or keeps it as a running punchline attached to Sawa's name.
