The New York Mets announced their organizational minor league awards on Sunday, and Mitch Voit was at the center of the list after turning a slow start at High-A Brooklyn into one of the strongest seasons in the system. After finishing sharply enough to earn a promotion to Double-A, he closed his second full professional season with Binghamton with a.347/.430/.517 line, 13 homers, 45 stolen bases and an.802 OPS.
That kind of turnaround is why the award lands now. Voit did not begin the year like a player ready to headline anything, but his production rose as the season went on, and the numbers at Binghamton showed a player who forced the issue with both power and speed. In an organization trying to sort out which young players are moving toward the next level, Sunday’s announcement gave Voit a clear place at the top of that list.
Jonathan Santucci joined him among the recognized players after splitting 2026 between Double-A and Triple-A and later moving to Syracuse, where he struggled before settling down late. He allowed two runs or fewer in four of his last five starts and finished with a 3.99 ERA over 119 2/3 innings, along with 157 strikeouts, a total that ranked among the top five for all minor league pitchers. That mix of rough patches and strikeout volume made his season harder to frame than Voit’s, but it also explained why the Mets still placed him among their standouts.
The award list also reached beyond the player pool. Ramirez, 17, put together his first full season with the organization in the Dominican Summer League, hitting.241/.357/.462 in 145 at-bats while stealing 18 bases and mostly working as a designated hitter. Meza, 19, was even more efficient in his second full season, posting a 1.81 ERA in 49 2/3 innings with 50 strikeouts, 10 walks and a 0.966 WHIP. David Adams was named Minor League Staff Member of the Year, Bryce Wheary was named DR Academy Staff Member of the Year, and Cesar Aranguren was named Marlin Phail Scout of the Year.
What the Mets chose to honor on Sunday was not a league-wide prize but an internal accounting of who advanced their system most clearly over the season. Voit’s surge gave them the simplest success story, while Santucci’s late-year finish showed a pitcher who could miss bats even when the climb got messy. The unanswered piece is which of the players, if any, were singled out for a specific category inside the organization’s awards, because the announcement did not spell that out.
