FOX Sports has done something that will reverberate through the 2027 NFL Draft conversation: it put Dante Moore ahead of Arch Manning in its latest quarterback power rankings. That is the change at the top, and it tells you how quickly the race for the class's lead spot can shift.
The ranking matters now because FOX Sports is treating this as a live board, not a one-time snapshot. It said it will update the list all season long, which makes every Saturday result, every change in usage, and every clean or sloppy performance part of the argument. For a class that could include a handful of franchise-altering quarterbacks, the top of the board is already being watched like a draft month story in real time.
Moore did not rise alone. FOX Sports split out 16 favorite draft-eligible quarterbacks and put several names in the same early conversation, including Nico Iamaleava, John Mateer, CJ Bailey, Beau Pribula, LaNorris Sellers and Brendan Sorsby. The list suggests scouts are not just tracking one or two stars; they are trying to sort a class that still has room to change shape before the 2027 NFL Draft arrives.
Some of the movement comes down to what each quarterback has already shown. Nico Iamaleava, listed at 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, and Mateer, at 6-1 and 224 pounds, were described as gifted athletes with strong arms and NFL-caliber size. But questions linger for Iamaleava about accuracy and decision-making on and off the field, and that kind of uncertainty can push a quarterback down even when the tools are obvious. CJ Bailey, a true junior at 6-6 and 218 pounds with a whip of an arm, also has the kind of frame that gets attention, though he struggled in a 31-8 loss to Virginia.
Pribula is the clearest example of why this board is still fluid. The 6-2, 209-pound quarterback led the Cavs with 110 rushing yards and completed nine of 11 passes, including two long touchdowns off play-action. He is a fifth-year senior who began his college career at Penn State, and his 11 touchdown passes against nine interceptions for Missouri last season were a career high. The 2026 season opener was only the 11th start of his college career, which shows how little certain evaluators have had to work with even after a performance that drew attention.
There is also a clear line between the quarterbacks who look safer and the ones who still have a proving ground ahead of them. Sellers, at 6-3 and 238 pounds, has size, arm talent and the kind of leadership that showed when he was voted a team captain as a redshirt freshman, something no freshman at South Carolina had ever done before. But he also had a 60.8% completion rate with 13 touchdowns against eight interceptions last year, and he needs to do a better job in the quick game. That combination is why his profile still carries more risk than the pure tools suggest.
The broader picture is what makes the ranking more than a simple list. NIL money and open transfer rules have made quarterback projections harder, because draft entry is no longer shaped only by age and production. The class is deep enough to tease multiple future starters, but uneven enough that the order can change fast. FOX Sports has already made its call at the top for now. The real test is whether Moore can hold off Manning once the games start piling up and the updates keep coming.
