Nintendo has set a new Customer Appreciation Sale in the U.S. that cuts prices by up to 30% on dozens of Switch games and other products, with the promotion running from September 13 through September 26.
The timing matters because shoppers looking for a Nintendo sale now have a narrow window to buy select digital and physical items at a discount across the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Store and other participating retailers. Nintendo has not released a full list of what is included, but it has said the sale covers select games, downloadable content, accessories, amiibo and apparel. It is spread across the company’s own storefronts and outside retailers, which usually makes the promotion broader than a single digital markdown.
The more unusual part is how Nintendo describes the promotion’s funding. The company says the sale is made possible in part by tariff-related refunds, even though it has also said it absorbed most tariff-related costs. That sits uneasily beside its earlier position that customers were not entitled to refunds for purchases made at those higher prices after a court ruled the tariffs illegal. Nintendo said those buyers received exactly what they paid for and that it was not required to retroactively adjust prices once the legal fight shifted.
That distinction matters because it shows the sale is not simply a holiday-style discount. It is tied to money Nintendo says came back to it after tariff litigation, while the company also maintained that it had already taken the hit on the Switch 2 itself rather than passing the full burden to consumers. So far, though, Nintendo has left one key piece open: which games and other items will actually be discounted. The answer is likely to shape how much value shoppers get from the sale before it ends on September 26.
