Grace Bohnert has earned a place on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team for the 2026 season, adding another name to a roster that is already drawing national attention. The undeclared major from Milan, Illinois, who graduated from Sherrard High School, will be part of a Warhawks group that begins the season Sept. 1.
The timing matters because UW Whitewater is not starting from scratch. The Warhawks finished 26-8 in 2025, made their 36th postseason appearance and open the new year ranked 16th in the AVCA Preseason Poll. Bohnert enters a program that has sustained success under Stacy Boudreau, whose.777 win percentage ranks seventh among active Division III coaches.
That success, though, comes with pressure. Whitewater is projected to finish third in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference even while returning two AVCA All-Americans in Abbie Dix, a senior middle-hitter from Brodhead, Wisconsin, and Aubrie Krzus, a senior setter from Wheaton, Illinois. The team also added two transfers and nine freshmen, a wave of new faces that makes Bohnert one of 11 newcomers trying to fit into a group that already expects to contend.
What Bohnert will play has not been specified, and that leaves one small but meaningful question hanging over her arrival. The larger picture is clearer: the Warhawks open their 2026 campaign at Russell Arena on Sept. 1, then face their first road challenge at an invitational in New Jersey before heading to the Calvin University Invitational. By the time conference play opens against UW-Stout on Sept. 24, Whitewater will already know how quickly its new pieces can settle in.
For Bohnert, the next step is simple and immediate. She is on the roster now, and the first serve of the 2026 season comes with no room to wait.
