That is the practical friction inside the Patriots' day: the club added one lineman with NFL snaps while clearing room by cutting 36 players and moving three others onto reserve or list designations. The initial 53-man roster is set, but the names most likely to return are the ones already inside the building and the ones with previous practice-squad or futures-contract paths, especially if New England looks to refill the same spots in the days after cutdown day.
