He scored four goals in three matches for Austin FC, a return that gives the club a reliable finishing threat as the knockout round tightens and every mistake starts to matter more. That scoring touch is part of why Austin FC does not look like a side simply happy to be in the quarterfinals.
But Toluca FC brings a different kind of pressure. The reigning champion of the Copa de Campeones Concacaf arrives with the weight of that reputation behind it, and that makes this more than a matchup of neat records. Austin FC has the cleaner Fase Uno line, but Toluca FC has already shown it can absorb a loss and still recover quickly, which is exactly the kind of resilience a quarterfinal demands.
