XBOX opened pre-orders today for its XBOX 25th anniversary collection, a limited hardware release built around the XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition console and the XBOX X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller. Some of XBOX’s most dedicated fans were invited by email first, and broader access begins Thursday, August 27 at 7 a.m. PDT for players in select markets while supplies last.
The timing matters because the collection is not a casual anniversary tie-in. XBOX set the MSRP at $899.99 USD, capped pre-orders at one per customer, and tied the launch to November 13, 2026, which makes this a narrow window for anyone hoping to buy one before inventory disappears.
The XBOX 25th anniversary collection arrives as a commemorative package for 25 years of XBOX hardware and games. The console uses translucent OG Green styling and carries details and tributes hidden across the design, while each XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition console is individually numbered with a unique engraving. Every console also includes a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved, making the bundle more than a display piece.
The controller follows a separate schedule. The XBOX X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller is available separately in select markets and launches on October 20, 2026, before the full collection lands in November. That split rollout leaves the bigger question in plain view: not which date the package ships, but which select markets and retailers will actually get it when the pre-order window opens wider.
For buyers, the message is simple. The first wave is already under way for invited fans, the next starts tomorrow, and the rest of the rollout depends on whether the collection remains in stock long enough to reach them.
