Only Murders In The Building is heading to London for Season 6, and Hulu has set the premiere for December 8. The move takes Charles, Oliver and Mabel out of New York City and into a new murder case built around Cinda Canning, who summons the trio to London to catch her killer.
For viewers, the date is the point. December 8 gives the mystery series a clear return on Hulu in the U.S., Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally, turning the next chapter into a scheduled event rather than a loose promise. Steve Martin returns as Charles alongside Martin Short and Selena Gomez, keeping the core trio intact while the story shifts across the Atlantic.
The new season also leans harder into the show’s own identity. Only Murders in the Building follows three true crime-solving podcasters, and this time the case opens in the home of the cozy murder mystery, where the setting itself is part of the puzzle. That matters because the series has always used New York City as part of its engine; London changes the rhythm, the suspects and the kind of places the trio can search for clues.
Cinda Canning does not simply become another body in the story. She is the one pulling the trio into the case, and the setup gives the season a sharper edge: they are being asked to solve a killing in a city full of suspicious and particularly English-eccentric characters, while avoiding the fate that ended her story. That twist gives Season 6 a built-in contradiction. The trio are chasing the truth because someone else died, yet they are moving through a world that seems ready to turn the mystery back on them.
The cast around them keeps the season loaded. Tina Fey, Olivia Colman, Meryl Streep, David Tennant, Nicola Coughlan and Martin Freeman are among the guest stars, and the series is co-created and written by Steve Martin and John Hoffman.
