Michael Idov says he and Lily have joined Lioness as writers and supervising producers, a move that points past Season 3 even though Paramount+ has not officially put Season 4 on the board. Idov called the job an honor and said he and Lily would be writing for Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman.
That is why viewers are searching for Lioness Season 4 now: the show is still in motion, and the creative team is already expanding. On top of that, Jill Wagner has gone further than a tease. She said, “We’re going to get a Season 4. We will, we will. When people see what Taylor Sheridan wrote for the finale, we are getting a Season 4. Or I will pay you $100.”
Wagner’s confidence matters because Lioness has become one of Paramount+’s strongest draws after two hit seasons and an acclaimed Season 3. The series, inspired by a real-life US military task force that supported operations in Iraq and Afghanistan in 2003, built its audience on a mix of covert-action drama and a cast that includes Saldaña, Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman, with Wagner, Laysla De Oliveira and Genesis Rodriguez in the main ensemble and Dave Anable, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Thad Luckinbill and Michael Kelly in supporting roles.
But there is still a gap between confidence and confirmation. Sheridan greenlit the series in 2022, and the first three seasons each arrived roughly 12 months after an official greenlight. If the same pattern holds and Season 4 is announced this year, a fall 2027 arrival becomes possible. That leaves Wagner sounding certain while the paperwork, at least publicly, has not caught up.
The likely answer is simple: the series is being lined up for another round, but not yet locked in. Wagner’s $100 promise may be bravado, but it is also the clearest sign yet that the cast expects Lioness to keep going.
