Rey Fenix beat Dragon Lee in a semifinal match and moved one step closer to a shot at the Campeonato Mundial Peso Completo. He finished the match with a Mexican Muscle Buster from the top corner and pinned Dragon Lee for the three-count.

The result matters now because the tournament path is narrowing fast, and Fenix is still alive for the next stage. His reward, if he keeps winning, is a possible match against Roman Reigns on RAW in Mexico.

The semifinal was not a clean sprint to the finish. Dragon Lee opened with a double kick and a neckbreaker, and Fenix answered with a kick near the ropes and a splash before taking the fight outside with a moonsault. After the break, Lee landed a German Suplex and a spinning dive, then came back with a superkick and a diving double footstomp attempt as the pace kept building.

Lee still found more chances to take control. He surprised Fenix with a spinning dive between the second and third ropes, then planted him with a tornado DDT in the ring. Fenix slipped out of the Operation Dragon and fired back with a brainbuster, but Lee nearly turned the match with a Styles Clash that only earned two. That was the opening Fenix needed.

Fenix seized it in the decisive stretch, driving Lee down with the Mexican Muscle Buster from the top corner and ending the match there. Dragon Lee was eliminated after coming close to winning, while Fenix advanced to the next stage of the tournament and kept his route to Roman Reigns on RAW in Mexico intact. The unanswered question is no longer whether Fenix can survive this round; it is who he has to beat next to make that title path real.
