Kim Zolciak’s 15-year-old son Kroy “KJ” Jr. was arrested Monday, August 17, in Alpharetta, Georgia, on aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual assault charges. A judge did not set bond, and he is being held at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center.
The case puts fresh attention on Zolciak just as readers are looking for the next step in a family story that has already played out in court records and in public filings. KJ is one of the sons she shares with estranged husband Kroy Biermann, and the couple married in 2011, the same year he was born.

The arrest lands against the backdrop of a divorce that began in 2023 and has remained active ever since. Biermann has sought sole custody of the minor children and accused Zolciak of neglect, while she denied his claims in March and said she had spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support her family and make sure her children were cared for.
That custody fight did not stay static. Zolciak said in April that the arrangements had not even been modified, then a judge ruled in May that Biermann would have primary physical custody of their youngest children. The shift matters now because it means the arrest is unfolding inside a family case that had already moved from accusation to court order before KJ was taken into custody.
Zolciak and Biermann later welcomed son Kash and twins Kaia and Kane in 2012 and 2013, respectively, and Biermann also adopted her two eldest daughters, Ariana and Brielle, from a previous relationship. Neither parent immediately addressed KJ’s arrest.
