Diane Warren has a new pig. On Thursday, the Grammy-winning songwriter met Wilbur for the first time after her bid, placed through Marcia Zwilling, won a silent auction at the West L.A. Animal Shelter.

The runaway pig had been spotted scampering through West Hollywood over the weekend and was caught on viral video running loose near Laurel Avenue before being taken to the shelter. No owner came forward to claim him, and four people showed up on Thursday hoping to adopt him, turning the decision into a quiet competition that ended with Warren's camp coming out on top.

Warren said the sight of the pig on screen was enough to make her act. “I lose Oscars but I won a pig... it's fun. It's fun,” she said when ABC7 was there as she met Wilbur. Zwilling said Warren had seen the clips and told her, “Please get the pig, get the pig!”

Wilbur is set to live at a seven-acre animal sanctuary in Malibu, where Zwilling said he will have other animal friends and gourmet salads every day. But the homecoming comes with a small twist: Warren already has a pig named Wilbur at her animal sanctuary, and she is considering changing the new pig's name to Hollywood.

That detail is what gives the adoption its lasting note. A runaway pig that briefly turned West Hollywood into a viral scene now has a permanent home, and Warren has one more animal story to add to the collection — even if she still has to decide which Wilbur is which.
