Chase Stokes and the cast of Outer Banks stepped onto the red carpet at a fan farewell event on Aug. 15, giving the show a public sendoff just days before its fifth and final season reaches Netflix. The gathering, billed as Pogues for Life: A Fan Farewell, brought the series’ leads and creators together at The Ford in Los Angeles, California.

The timing matters because Season 5 arrives on Aug. 20, and the farewell lands while the show is still in motion, not after the final credits have rolled. Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Drew Starkey, Jonathan Daviss and Carlacia Grant attended, along with co-creators Josh Pate and Jonas Pate, underscoring how fully the series is leaning into its last run.

That celebration carries a sharper edge inside the story itself. Season 5 finds the Pogues facing the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco, having already lost the Blue Crown in Season 5, and still pushed into familiar danger as they try to avenge his death and reclaim their future. The farewell event, in other words, marked the end of an era even as the season ahead is built around grief and retaliation.

What the fan event added beyond the red carpet is not detailed, but the point of it was plain enough: the cast was there to gather fans before the last chapter begins. Sadie Stanley also appeared at the Los Angeles event, adding to the sense that the final season is being launched as both a celebration and a goodbye. By Aug. 20, the show’s farewell will move from the carpet to the screen.
