A Sunday-night rumor put Adoree Jackson back in the Dallas conversation, with the Dallas Cowboys now being linked to a possible signing of the veteran cornerback after hosting him at The Star before training camp. The renewed talk comes as Dallas keeps working on a secondary rebuild that already has several new names in the room.

Jackson is the kind of player that keeps showing up in these discussions for a reason. He is 30 years old, was a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and spent the 2025 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he started 10 games and finished with 55 tackles, 11 pass breakups and one interception. He also made $1.7 million on a one-year deal in Philadelphia, a price that fits the profile of a veteran add rather than a major splash.

The interest makes sense because Dallas is not starting from scratch. Christian Parker moved to Dallas this offseason after coaching the Philadelphia secondary, and Jackson’s time there gives the connection some football logic. Parker knows what Jackson can do in multiple defensive schemes, including the 3-4 Hybrid, and Dallas has been trying to patch together a unit after fielding the NFL’s worst secondary in 2025.

That is where the friction sits. Dallas has already brought in Caleb Downs, Devin Moore, Jalen Thompson, Cobie Durant and P.J. Locke, while DaRon Bland, Malik Hooker and Shavon Revel remain among the holdovers. Even after a weekend that included re-signing Quinnen Williams and signing Von Miller, the rumor suggests the Cowboys may not be done shopping for help at corner.

What remains unresolved is simple: the rumor is not a transaction. Dallas has looked at Jackson once before and is looking again now, but until the Cowboys actually move, he is still another veteran name tied to a secondary that is being rebuilt piece by piece.
