That matters now because the first preseason game is set for Saturday, and roster projections at this stage are less about guesswork than about which players are already being handled as core pieces. In that group, Brown was listed with DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon and Darius Cooper, a five-man receiver group that leaves no room for a sixth name.
The timing gives the projection some weight. Training camp is still early, but it is far enough along to separate players who are clearly in the plan from those still trying to climb onto it. Brown’s inclusion suggests he is already inside the circle, not waiting on the edge of it. For a receiver trying to lock down a spot, that is the kind of placement that can matter more than any single practice highlight.
It also creates the clearest friction in the group. Elijah Moore had a productive camp, but he was not one of the five receivers projected to make the roster. That means Brown and the four others were placed ahead of him in the lineup picture even with Moore turning in the kind of showing that usually keeps a player in the conversation longer. The projection does not close the door on him, but it does show how narrow the path has become.
The bigger point is that this was a roster projection, not a final decision. Brown is being read as part of the Eagles' wide receiver core for now, and that is the only conclusion the moment supports. Saturday will bring the first game look of the summer, but the final 53-man answer will have to wait for the next roster move.
