The Green Bay Packers released their first unofficial depth chart of training camp, and Anthony Belton was still listed as the starting right guard. Jager Burton, Jacob Monk and Donovan Jennings were all listed as challengers, but the first snapshot of the pecking order kept Belton in front.
That matters because this is the club’s first public look at how it wants the roster arranged at the start of camp, and the decisions reach well beyond one spot on the line. Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden were listed as the starting receivers, with Davion Williams, Bo Melton and Skyy Moore behind them, while Isaiah Neyor and J. Michael Sturdivant were outside the two-deep at receiver.
The first depth chart also put Chris Brooks ahead of MarShawn Lloyd as the second-string back, with Devonte Wyatt and Karl Brooks listed as the starting defensive linemen and Javon Hargrave and Warren Brinson behind them. Barryn Sorrell appeared to have a lead to start opposite Lukas Van Ness, while Dani Dennis-Sutton was listed as a third-stringer behind Collin Oliver and Brenton Cox Jr.
There were more clear reads in the secondary. Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine were listed as the starting cornerbacks, with Brandon Cisse and Benjamin St-Juste behind them. Kamal Hadden was listed as the team’s number two slot defender, and Kitan Oladapo was playing the role of Javon Bullard’s replacement in practice.
Special teams may be the most revealing part of the chart. Skyy Moore was listed as the starting punt returner and kick returner, with Savion Williams and Pierre Strong Jr. backing him up on kick returns and Will Sheppard and Jaden Nixon behind him on punt returns. Matt Orzech was still on the PUP list with a short-term calf issue, but he remained ahead of Cal Adomitis on the long snapper depth chart.
The chart is unofficial, which gives the Packers room to keep sorting out jobs before preseason games force harder choices. That is especially true for Belton at right guard, where the listed starter is holding off a real push, and for Hadden and Moore, whose roles could look different once camp reps and roster cuts narrow the field.
