Heated Rivalry has added five actors to its Season 2 cast, and Robert Naylor will play Wyatt Hayes. Emily Hampshire, Edvin Ryding, Sabrina Jalees and Priyanka are joining him as the series builds toward its spring 2027 return.

The casting puts a name to one of the most talked-about roles in the Vanessa heated rivalry conversation around the show. Hampshire will play Vanessa, Ryding is Luca Haas, Jalees is Farah Jalali and Priyanka portrays Tarek, while Naylor steps into Wyatt Hayes, a character readers of Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books know as a prominent side figure and the starting goaltender for the Ottawa Centaurs.

That matters because Season 2 is not just adding faces. It is also dividing its attention between Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov’s story and a new couple, a structure that gives the next chapter more room but also more pressure. Jacob Tierney has said the season will tackle The Long Game while also taking on Role Model, which means the show is carrying forward the central pairing that made the first season work while opening another lane at the same time.

Season 1 adapted Book 2, Heated Rivalry, while also drawing from Book 1, Game Changer, so the new season is following a pattern the series has already used: take one major relationship and widen the frame without losing it. The difference now is scale. HBO Max is set to carry Season 2 in spring 2027 in the U.S., Australia, Europe excluding the UK, Ireland, Spain and Turkey, as well as Latin America and Asia, including the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

For viewers waiting on Wyatt Hayes, the answer is now public. For the show, the bigger test is whether the expanded cast can deepen the world without crowding out the core story that brought Heated Rivalry this far.
