Rod Stewart’s concert scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9, in Cincinnati was postponed after he underwent an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention. Riverbend Music Center announced the change on social media around 4:30 p.m., saying the show would not go ahead as planned.
The timing matters because fans had already been preparing for a Sunday night performance, and the venue said rescheduling was underway. This was not presented as a cancellation. Previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new date, which means ticket holders in Cincinnati are being asked to wait for the replacement schedule rather than start over.
Riverbend Music Center said additional information would follow on Aug. 11, leaving the new date as the main unanswered piece. Stewart is expected to make a quick recovery and, in the venue’s words, looks forward to returning to Cincinnati. That makes the postponement temporary, but it still leaves a gap between the night fans expected and the one they will eventually get.
