Spider-Man: Brand New Day is headed for a $143M second weekend, a haul that would put it third all time for a domestic sophomore frame and make it the first Sony movie to clear $100M in back-to-back weekends. At that level, the film would sit behind only Force Awakens at $149.2M and Avengers: Endgame in the domestic second-weekend conversation, with a running cume expected to reach $653M by tomorrow.

The scale matters because the movie would become only the eighth title to cross $100M in a second weekend and only the fifth Marvel title to do it, joining Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther and The Avengers. Sony’s previous high for a second weekend came from Spider-Man: No Way Home at $84.5M in 2021, which makes this jump even sharper: a $143M frame is not just a new studio mark, it is a leap into a very small club.

The comparison to Avengers: Endgame is what gives the number its weight. Endgame’s 10-day domestic gross was $621.2M, and if Spider-Man: Brand New Day gets to $653M, it would own the highest 10-day domestic total ever. That is why this weekend is being watched so closely, not just as another strong hold but as a run that could rewrite the top of the chart while the film still has room left to play.

There is, though, a useful reminder in One Night Only, which opened with $6M despite a social media universe of 355M across TikTok, X, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. RelishMix called the chatter around it mixed-negative leaning, dominated by frustration over the marketing rather than the movie itself, even though Monica Barbaro has 1M followers and the film still drew a 73% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The point is not that online reach guarantees turnout; it is that the right kind of momentum, on the right title, can still break through in a way that chatter alone cannot.

That is where Brand New Day stands now. PLF screens and added Imax screens are driving 33% of the weekend, its second Friday came in at $43M, and the domestic box office this weekend is being powered by more than $204M from Brand New Day and The Odyssey combined. If the forecast holds, the question is no longer whether Sony has a franchise hit on its hands. It is whether the film actually lands at $143M and locks in the third-highest second frame ever before the numbers are final.
