The reaction came fast because Goodman has long been associated with a very different version of himself. He rose to fame in 1988 as Dan Conner in Roseanne, a role he played for 10 years, and later appeared in The Big Lebowski, The West Wing and Argo. By 2010, he said on Late Night with David Letterman that his heaviest weight was “pushing 400,” and he later described his weight loss as a matter of cutting back and changing how he lived.
