Spider-Man: Brand New Day has passed Avengers: Endgame at the box office, a result that would have sounded unlikely even in a franchise built on crowd-pleasing returns. The win gives the latest Spider-Man film a mark once held by the movie that, for a time, was the highest-grossing film of all time.
The timing matters because Brand New Day is in theaters now on the 2026 movie release list, and its run is already being measured against the biggest numbers Marvel has ever posted. The Russo Brothers marked the moment on Instagram and gave credit to Destin Daniel Cretton, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal, turning a business headline into a show of force for the people behind the film.
That kind of celebration carries extra weight because Spider-Man movies usually do well anyway, which is part of why the benchmark feels so sharp. Still, Endgame was not just another title to beat; in July 2019 it overtook Avatar before Avatar later returned to theaters and reclaimed the top spot, so passing it is more than a routine franchise win.
