The timing matters because this is not a routine patch. It is a substantial addition to Ghost Recon Wildlands, a title that still has a dedicated following and now gets new content alongside performance upgrades on current PlayStation hardware. Yossef Benzeghadi said the update adds 4K and 60 FPS on PS5 and PS5 Pro, a clear technical bump for a game that has already lived a long life. That long-tail audience is exactly where Last Rites seems aimed. The new Ghost Parameters in the Options menu let players switch on instant death or limitless revives, choose one or two primary weapons, and decide whether unused ammo carries over after a reload. In the Lobby page, the new World and Session Settings let players control the weather, time of day, alarms, jammers and the rate of enemy patrols, while co-op players can also enable friendly fire. HUD and UI settings are more flexible than before, which gives the update a wider reach than the headline mission alone.
The friction is hard to miss: Ghost Recon Wildlands is nearly a decade old, yet Last Rites adds features that make it feel actively tuned rather than preserved. Before this update, the game already had Ghost Mode and Clancy-verse missions tied to Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six Siege, and those additions helped establish a pattern of postlaunch support that still carries weight today.
