Spider: Brand New Day opened to $360 million domestically on Monday, lifting the Tom Holland-led film past Avengers: Endgame and into first place for the biggest domestic box office opening of all time.

The final tally was higher than Sunday’s early estimate of $355 million, a small revision that still carried huge consequences because the film had already cleared the previous mark of $357.1 million. It also delivered the best opening day plus previews ever, at $168 million, ahead of Avengers: Endgame’s $157.4 million. By the time the final numbers were in, Spider: Brand New Day had already taken in $932 million worldwide and held a 90% critics score, a combination that makes the opening feel less like a fluke than the latest proof that Holland’s Spider-Man remains one of the MCU’s most reliable draws.

The size of the debut matters because it comes in the middle of a year when industry talk has leaned heavily on the idea that comic book fatigue may be setting in, especially around secondary characters. That argument did not stop Spider: Brand New Day, the fourth Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film, from powering past the old benchmark. Spider-Man: No Way Home still sits second on the all-time domestic opening list at $260.1 million, a reminder of how far the franchise has already pushed the ceiling.

That momentum has been hard to miss across Holland’s run. His previous three Spider-Man films have drawn critics scores of 92%, 91% and 93%, and the new opening adds another hard number to the case that audiences keep turning out for this version of Peter Parker. The record also sharpens the contrast with other Marvel titles that did not come close to the same level of launch energy, including Black Widow at $80.3 million and Eternals at $71.2 million.

There is still one question the final box office figure cannot answer by itself: how long the film can keep this pace once the opening rush fades. For now, though, Monday’s revision settled the score at $360 million and left Spider: Brand New Day with the biggest domestic debut in movie history.

The same box office frame that lifted Spider: Brand New Day also showed how rare that kind of launch has become. The Odyssey grossed $51 million in its third weekend and reached $395.5 million in North America after 17 days, helped by $221 million from IMAX screenings, or nearly 61% of its total. It is a reminder that premium formats can still drive a massive share of revenue, but on this Monday, the bigger story belonged to Spider and the record it just took down.
