USA Network is turning Tracy Spiridakos’s exit from Chicago PD into a lead-in for her return. The network will air two specially curated Chicago PD marathons ahead of the August 7 premiere of Anna Pigeon, her new title role on the channel.
The first marathon begins August 1 at 12 pm ET and runs for 12 hours under the banner Best of Upton: Tracy’s Picks. It pulls from season 5, season 6 and season 7, giving viewers a back-to-back set of episodes tied to Detective Hailey Upton, the role Spiridakos played for seven seasons before leaving Chicago PD.
That mix gives the stunt its point. Chicago PD helped make Spiridakos a familiar face, and USA Network is using that history to keep her on-screen just days before Anna Pigeon arrives as the network’s newest original series. The selected episodes — Fallen, Captive, Ghosts, Allegiance, Homecoming, Brotherhood, Ties That Bind, Reckoning, Informant, Mercy, The Devil You Know and Intimate Violence — map the stretch of the character’s run that viewers are most likely to remember.
What makes the move more interesting is what it does not fully explain. USA Network says there will be a second Chicago PD marathon before the premiere, but it has not said when that block begins or which episodes it will include. That leaves the first marathon to do most of the work: remind viewers why Spiridakos mattered on the show, then carry that attention straight into her next role.
For Spiridakos, the schedule is a clean handoff. One chapter closes in Chicago PD, another opens with Anna Pigeon, and the network is letting the audience pass from one to the other without much of a gap. The unanswered part is now narrower and more useful: how far will USA Network go in keeping that momentum going before August 7?
