Joey King and Maisie Williams stepped onstage at the 2026 Teen Vogue Fest and put a name to the roles they will play in Practical Magic 2. The pair said they are set to appear as Sally Owens’s two grown daughters, Antonia and Kylie, in the sequel scheduled for this September.
The timing matters because the new film is the first major return to the Practical Magic world since the 1998 original, and King and Williams are now part of a cast that still centers on Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. For readers following the sequel, the Teen Vogue Fest appearance was the first public discussion of how the younger generation fits into a story built around a franchise many people have carried with them for nearly 30 years.
Williams said the offer brought a jolt of nerves. “It was a little bit terrifying, only because you want to be on your A-game and are working with legends,” she said, adding that she learned a great deal from Bullock and Kidman. “You never stop learning and growing from people you work with, so getting to learn and grow from Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman was fun and a little overwhelming.”
King had her own history with the film long before this casting. She said she was not even born when Practical Magic came out in 1998, and that when she first watched it at nine or ten, she was really scared. Over time, she said, it became one of those movies you can return to again and again. Williams, meanwhile, said she first discovered it with her mother, and that it now brings back happy memories of her childhood.
