The Librarians: The Next Chapter returns for Season 2 on Sunday, Aug. 2 at 9 p.m. ET on TNT, giving fans a fixed time for the next chapter of the fantasy-adventure series. The new season puts Vikram Chamberlain back at the center of the story as he again faces a magical mess he helped create.

The series remains a spinoff of the original The Librarians franchise, but Season 2 leans harder into the pressure on Vikram, a Librarian from 1847 who became stranded in the present day after time traveling. He returned to his former castle in Serbia, now a museum, and accidentally unleashed magic across Europe, forcing him to assemble a team to track down dangerous supernatural artifacts before the damage spread further.
That setup makes the personal conflict unusually sharp. Vikram built the team, yet he must learn to rely on it instead of operating alone, even as Lysa and Connor adjust to their new duties and Guardian Charlie takes on more responsibility protecting the group. The season opener adds another layer of uncertainty with a mysterious outbreak of rage at an international boarding school and a man claiming to be Merlin.
Season 2 will also bring back Lindy Booth as Cassandra Cillian and Christian Kane as Jacob Stone, while Merlin is played by Dominic Monaghan. Dean Devlin, who helped create the original franchise, executive produces and showruns the series.
