For Segers, Broadway debut means exactly what it sounds like: his first appearance in a Broadway production, a step that arrives inside one of the most durable musicals of the last decade. Kayko will also make a Broadway debut in the new company, as Orpheus, while Jasmin Savoy Brown takes Eurydice and Norbert Leo Butz moves in as Hermes.
The incoming cast also includes Amber Iman as Persephone, Kelly Belarmino, KC Dela Cruz and Khori Michelle Petinaud as the Fates, and Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Jeffrey Cornelius, Sydney Parra and Alex Puette in the chorus of Workers. Brandon Cameron, Tara Jackson, Max Kumangai and Alex Lugo will be swings, rounding out the company that begins performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre on September 1.
The transition lands in the middle of a long run for Hadestown, which is in its eighth year on Broadway after winning eight 2019 Tony Awards.
