The injury reportedly happened during or around Thrice’s performance on Sunday evening. David attended the festival with Alejandro, and the brothers split up to watch different bands on separate stages, leaving Alejandro to learn later that his brother had been hurt.
That timing matters because it narrows the window, but it does not explain the moment itself. Alejandro said he and David had been separated for about 90 minutes before the hospital admission, and information gathered through social media posts and conversations with other attendees suggests David may have first walked himself to a medical tent before being transported for treatment. If that sequence is accurate, it would mean he was able to move under his own power before doctors recognized the seriousness of the injury.
That is where the family’s questions deepen. Alejandro said David’s emergency contact was not notified after he reached a medical tent or after he was taken to the hospital, leaving them with a gap in the most basic chain of communication. Official details about how the injury occurred have not been publicly released, and that missing piece now sits at the center of the case.
The incident lands as Vans Warped Tour has already announced plans for its 2027 event, scheduled from July 24th-27th, 2027 at the Shoreline Waterfront in Long Beach.
