Spider-Man: Brand New Day ends with one short post-credit scene that sends Spider-Man somewhere in space and leaves Marvel’s next move hanging in the air. The tag uses Ned’s Spider-Man tracker app, a voice warning of a new location for the webslinger, and a pixelated GPS map that pins the mask icon off-world.
That is the kind of detail fans go looking for as soon as the credits stop rolling. Marvel’s text says Spider-Man will return, but it does not name the next title, so the scene answers one question and opens another: Spider-Man is back on the board, but the route to the next film is still unclear.
The space clue matters because it is not the first time Marvel has pointed a character toward the stars. Tom Holland had already teased Spider-Man in space for Avengers: Infinity War alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy cast, and the new tag revives that idea in a cleaner, more immediate form. If the map is meant literally, the tracker is not misreading a street address or a local signal. It is showing Spider-Man beyond Earth, which is a much bigger setup than a simple return message.
There is also a larger pattern around Marvel’s recent post-credit scenes, and this one fits into it neatly. Viewers of Thunderbolts* saw Yelena Belova’s iPad run a threat scan of outer space, then flag an unidentified craft entering the orbit of Earth-616. Viewers of Fantastic Four: The First Steps were taken to Earth-828, where a scene prefaced by “Four Years Later” led to Dr. Victor von Doom meeting Franklin, Sue Storm’s baby with Reed Richards. Those scenes did not just tease future films; they linked the franchise together through space, time, and character movement.
That is where the friction sits. Marvel says Spider-Man will return, but Holland is not currently listed in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, the film scheduled for December 18, 2026. The new tag leaves open whether Spider-Man’s next appearance is that title or something else entirely, and the image of the mask on a space map keeps both possibilities alive. One reading is that Spider-Man is being pulled toward Earth-616 from off-world. Another is that the app is tracking him at a distance the story has not yet explained.
Either way, the scene does what a good Marvel stinger is supposed to do: it narrows the path without closing it. Spider-Man is coming back, and the only thing the tag refuses to say is where he lands next.
